Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP for short), looks exactly as it sounds: you stand on a large surfboard and propel yourself forward with a paddle. But, unlike traditional surfing, you don't have to wait for the waves. In fact, SUP, which is becoming very popular due to the full body exercise it provides, can be done here at Harbourfront’s harbour or across into the Toronto Islands.Give us a call and schedule an introductory lesson and paddle today. What a wonderful way to see the wildlife of the Toronto Islands from a standing vantage point! Great upper body, legs, and abs workout, and there’s lots to learn about easily edging the board to keep it tracking straight when paddling on one side. Come try it to possibly expand your list of healthy hobbies!
Prerequisite: Intro Lesson or equivalent experience.

After you take our Intro Lesson or already having the equivilent experience, you can choose from 2 types of tours:
We use our pontoon boat to transport you over to the Toronto Islands to start by wading off a beach. We paddle through some of our favorite spots with some island and nature interpretation along the way. We will take a 5 minute walk over to Gibralter Point to either catch some waves, go for a swim or simply relax on the beach with the snack and drink the tour leader brings. Afterwards we continue exploring on our relaxing paddle before the pontoon boat comes over to bring us back to Harbourfront.
Offered every Sat & Sun morning 10-1pm in July, Aug & Sept. Want to paddle with others who like yourself, love to get out for a bit of exercise and a great social time? Every Wed evening while others are paddling kayaks, join a seperate Paddleboard leader and enjoy paddling into a setting sun on the harbour with a BBQ (burgers & veggie burgers) awaiting your arrival back on the mainland. The money raised from BBQ donations goes towards the cost of the food and charities. It is a great time to get to know others and future paddling buddies. Start paddling from our mainland docks at 6:45 pm (6:15 in Sept), but try to arrive 30 minutes early to sign in, get changed and get everything ready to go. Having taken the 1.5 hour Intro Lesson or having paddled paddleboards for a couple hours comfortably in the past will have you ready for this evening.
Learn privately at your own speed from one of our instructors at a time that suits you. We offer private lessons throughout the day, throughout the summer. Prices include all associated equipment. Click here for price breakdown
